The Board of Elders is a group of men, confirmed and baptized members, who have been elected by the Congregational Voters’ Assemble for a term of two years each. The Office of the Elders is to assist the Pastor in the spiritual welfare of the congregation. They see that services are conducted in an atmosphere of orderliness and reverence.

Trustees
Trustees

The Trustees are Church members, elected by the congregation to oversee and maintain the care, upkeep, and operation of the building and grounds of St. John’s Lutheran Church and School. The Trustees are always seeking volunteers and helpers to assist with many projects and activities which need to be completed at the church and school.

Evangelism
Evangelism

One purpose of this board or committee is to search for ways to develop concern in the congregation for people who do not yet have Jesus Christ as their Savior and to seek ways and means for an effective outreach toward the unchurched souls in the surrounding community. Other duties are to enlist aid in visiting prospective members of the Church and assist the Pastor in training the laity in bringing the unchurched to the Pastor’s Information Class.

Young Adult Bible Study
Young Adult Bible Study

Where: at church in Blanchard Hall When: Tuesday nights. We meet for dinner at 6:30pm (potluck), our study begins at 7:00pm. We have weekly childcare and ask that families pay $5 each week (not per child) We want to grow our group and meet new people, so we're also doing several events throughout the year, and we'd love YOU to join! Altar Guild
Altar Guild

Members of the Altar Guild are responsible for preparing the Altar for worship each Sunday, caring for the Altar clothes, Pastors vestments and acolytes’ robes, and the setting up and taking down of communion on assigned Sundays. Members do not need experience, but only the willingness to learn, and the time to serve. Please take some time to pray about your decision to join our gamily and let the Spirit lead your heart.

Life Team
Life Team

A gospel driven ministry team interested in working on life issues in their church and community around us. A Life Team is there to serve and support the church leaders and the church family.  The direction of the Life Team will be determined by the group leader and the members of the ministry team.

Choir

We have something for everyone! Children's Choir, Adult Choir, Bell Choir, and Wednesday Singing. Please contact our Music Director for more information.

Sunday School
Sunday School

We have Sunday School for all ages. Sunday School is from 09:15 to 10:15 and lasts from September through May, and takes a break for the summer from June through August.

Youth Group (LYF)
Youth Group (LYF)

Lutheran Youth Fellowship (LYF) is the young group of St. John’s Lutheran Church. The LYF is open to any youth within the grades of 7th through 12th. This group of young people is all about worshiping and loving God and their church. We participate in many several events for out church and the community around us.

Coffee Class
Coffee Class

Young Adults meet for “Coffee Class” every Thursday at 7:00pm. Location varies, we usually rotate meeting at each other's houses. This is a good time for our young adults in our congregation to get to know each other and also learn about God’s word. Don’t let Children deter you from coming, bring them as well!

Men' Breakfast Group

We meet on the 3rd Saturday of each month in Blanchard Hall at 7:30am. Bring your own Breakfast, coffee will be provided. This is a good opportunity to get to know each other and learn all about God’s word.

In Christ Alone
In Christ Alone

In Christ Alone Bible Study meets every Thursday evening at 7:00pm in homes of different members each week, so the location varies from week to week. LWML
LWML

LWML is the ladies organization of the Lutheran Church, Missouri Synod (LCMS) proclaiming to be Lutheran Women in Mission. Mites are collected for National and State Mission Grants. St. John’s LWML now collects Mites the first Sunday of each month that are saved by those who do not attend the monthly meeting. In addition, we participate in all other service projects of the Zone, District, and National LWML. St. John’s LWML business meetings are held on the first Tuesday of each month at 7:00pm

Senior Saints
Senior Saints

The purpose of the Senior Saints is to become better acquainted with our brothers and sisters in Christ. We meet the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month at 11:30am at the church in Blanchard Hall. We have a short Bible lesson, eat lunch, and play games! Occasionally we take a trip to places of interest.

Quilting Bees
Quilting Bees

Their handmade treasures have brought warmth and comfort to countless people and have been shared with others through various Lutheran relief charities, Some of them are given locally; others are sent to Lutheran World Relief for distribution in third-world countries and disaster situations. This is not done with fine hand stitching, the quilts are made very simply with squares and tied with yarn. Come join our Quilters Wednesday mornings in Blanchard Hall from 9:00am to 11:00am.
